When/Where
We Meet

The School meets one weekend per month for two years from September through June at All Saints Conference Center, 833 Hickory Grove Road in Leitchfield, Kentucky.

Sessions begin at 5:30 p.m. (CT) on Friday night and conclude at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. It is the expectation that all students will remain on site for the duration of each weekend, and will attend every weekend of the program.

In between weekend sessions, students will have reading assignments, ministry projects, and papers to write. Access to email and the Internet is very important.

Tuition for the program is $850 per year (or $425 per semester) and covers housing, meals and all other materials, except textbooks.

SOM is supported financially by the Diocese of Kentucky, contributions and tuition. Donations for support of the program may be sent to the diocese.

Our News

Registration is open for the 2013-2015 class

July 10, 2013

Baptism establishes the “priesthood of all believers” and the discipleship and ministry of each individual Christian, and the baptismal covenant provides a foundational document that leads us into ministry.  Each time we repeat these vows, we are committing ourselves to a life of ministry, but if we posed the question: “Who are the ministers of the Church?” many people would limit the list to priests and bishops.  If, however, we look at the answer to this question as it appears in the Catechism in the Book of Common Prayer, we read: “The ministers of the Church are lay persons, bishops, priests and deacons” (p. 855).  The ministry of the Church is most effective when lay persons, bishops, priests and deacons are working together as a team.  When one of these roles is absent or underutilized, the Church’s ministry is incomplete.

Registration is now being taken

July 15, 2011

Registration is now be taken through August 15, 2011, for those wishing to enroll in the Diocese of Kentucky's School of Ministry, a two-year program for individuals interested in diaconal and intentional lay ministry.
